Since our shops are under a main website (etsy.com), it is hard to figure out what keywords people used to find your specific shop on Etsy. The good news is that you can track how shoppers within Etsy find your shop using keywords.
To set this up, follow these steps (if the pictures are too small for you just click on them for bigger versions):
- Log-in to Google Analytics
- Click "edit" see the heart in the picture
- In the top right of the "Main Website Profile Information" box click "edit"
- Under "Site Search" change the settings to match the picture below
- Click "Save Changes"
- Log in to Google Analytics
- Click "View report"
- Click "Content"
- Click "Site Search"

Hi,
ReplyDeleteThere is a picture up there, but I will post a link here for you just in case: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_tj-b8yLdpcw/ShyN_aqy3wI/AAAAAAAAABw/yLfiAYdR3QY/s1600-h/second.png
but .. you click "yes" for that particular question.

Hi--found the link for this you posted on etsy forums. Thanks again! There's an option: yes/no an E-commerce site. I would guess yes (it's an etsy store) but maybe that term has a specific definition? Please advise--new to GA. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, is it possible to track two etsy shops?
Thanks!

Hi Leila,
ReplyDeleteI have "no" checked because we cannot use the ecommerce aspect for google analytics. Eventually, etsy might change this so we can use it, but for not it does not really matter what you check.
Yes! You can add as many stores as you would like .. when you first log-in to Google Analytics click "Add new profile" its on the right. Then follow the steps the same way you did it for your first shop.
Let me know if you need any more help.

Thank you! Your directions were super easy to follow! :)
ReplyDeleteYour directions were great, and the video was especially good because it explained the reason why we had to make these setting changes. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you. I have a couple of Etsy stores listed, so I had to do some maneuvering to find the "Main Website Profile Information". Once I found it though, it was a piece of cake. Can't wait to see what comes of it. Meredith (A Vague reCollection and MomAndMisha)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Thanks so much. I just implemented this site search on my gg analytic. Can't wait to see the report in next 24 hours.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you and your shops in 2010!
